VISIA™ skin analysis is the first photographic imaging tool for skin care. The VISIA™ system provides clinical measurement of surface and subsurface facial conditions. VISIA™ captures multi-spectral photos of your face, examining your complexion for wrinkles, large pores, rough texture, evidence of bacteria (porphyrins), UV spots from overexposure to the sun, and pigmented changes in the skin. Additionally, VISIA™ grades your skin features relative to the skin of others who are the same age and have a similar skin type. This procedure is a series of photographs of your skin.
Number of Treatments
We will take a VISIA™ photo prior to each treatment series and one after to measure results. We also will take a VISIA™ the measure the effects of a particular product.
Treatment Areas
The VISIA™ system is like a mini table top “booth”. Photos of Face are specific to the VISIA™ system.
Treatment Time
The actual VISIA™ photos take only a few minutes. This is part of our initial consultation which takes about 30 minutes.
Recovery Time
There is no recovery with VISIA™.
Potential Side Effects
VISIA™ is a series of photographs therefore, there are no know side effects.
Pricing
This is part of every skin care treatment. A VISIA™ treatment is part of your initial consultation. Dr. Stephen Nogan and our skin care team will use this initial photo.
Based on the skin analysis profile, we will customize a facial rejuvenation program using products and treatments clinically proven to address your individual needs. VISIA™ is not only used to initially evaluate the skin, but is also an excellent tool to assess the improvement of your skin from treatments and topical therapy. With VISIA™, we can measure the effectiveness of your skin care program over time. Visia is used prior to any Ultherapy, Infini, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, IPL or any other skin care procedure.
How can skin care products help me?
Skin care products, ones that are either dispensed in a physician’s office or sold by prescription, break down the sticky glue between the dead skin cells of the epidermis, causing them to exfoliate. There are literally hundreds of skin care products available on the market—Retin A, Tretinoin, glycolic acid, just to name a few. There are two things you should remember about all these products. One, they all do the same thing, and two, they are all equally effective. It ultimately comes down to your physician’s clinical experience in dealing with your particular skin type and your satisfaction with the product price, look, and feel. It may come down to trial and error when trying to find the correct fit. Skin care products are at the lowest rung of the ladder of skin rejuvenation. Results will be subtle and generally take 3–4 months to materialize. These products will typically improve the appearance of your skin from point A to point B, but most of us expect to see significant improvements. We want to be up at point D, E and F, and we want it yesterday. Skin care products alone won’t get you there, but they are an important first step in the rejuvenation process. Individuals looking for better and faster results need to move up the ladder and consider in-office resurfacing.
