PRP Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by rolling fine needles over the skin and applying platelets, which are one of the components of blood. The addition of PRP from the blood enhances the benefits from microneedling, resulting in better results and quicker recovery.

How much does PRP Microneedling Cost in Columbus, Ohio?
PRP, platelet-rich plasma, contains hundreds of bioactive proteins including growth factors, peptides, and cytokines that stimulate healing of skin and soft tissues. To obtain the PRP, a small vial of blood will be drawn and centrifuged until it is separated into a layer of red blood cells and plasma. When used with microneedling, tiny channels are created for the PRP to penetrate the skin. Using the two treatments synergistically leads to increased collagen and elastin production.
PRP microneedling is minimally invasive. You can expect to see changes as soon as you have the procedure done. Your body will continue to rebuild collagen for several weeks following your treatment. End results are typically complete between 4-6 weeks. Multiple treatments will maximize patient results. The best results are produced by at least 3 separate treatments spaced about a month part. The number of recommended treatments and the scheduling of these treatments are determined by the initial condition of the skin and the desired outcome.
Is PRP Microneedling safe?
PRP microneedling is a very safe procedure and is FDA approved for skin rejuvenation. Because PRP microneedling uses the patient’s own blood, the risk of the body rejecting the plasma is low. PRP microneedling is also being used on other areas of the body with good results.
How long is downtime with PRP Microneedling?
Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, recovery period is relatively minimal with one to three days of mild redness. It is recommended to keep the PRP on your face for 12-24 hours after your appointment to let it continue to heal the skin. The longer the PRP remains on your skin, the greater the results.
