As a professional woman in my early sixties, I have worked to maintain my appearance through my forties and fifties. I was not frightened of BOTOX® injections, fillers, of even upper eyelid/lower eyelid surgery, but the thought of having a facelift scared me beyond comprehension. I had seen enough “facelift disasters” and did not want to wake up from surgery looking like someone my family and friends could not recognize.

I continued my attempts at maintenance until it was obvious that my efforts were not producing the effect that I was trying to achieve. A facelift was in my future!

After four consultations, I scheduled my surgery with Dr. Michael Sullivan. He was highly recommended by several valued sources. I felt comfortable with his expertise and doctor-patient manner, so I was ready to take the next step. Even still, I went into the surgery frightened of what my face might look like. I wanted to appear younger, fresher, rested, and natural. I did not want to look like a “freak.”

To my amazement, the surgery was so much easier than expected. After four hours of surgery with anesthesia, I woke up feeling relatively comfortable. My husband drove me home, and I stayed up the rest of the day watching movies. My recovery over that week was easy and quick. Five days after the surgery, I was eating dinner at a restaurant with my family. Two weeks after the surgery, I was back at work, in a very visible and high-profile position.

To my delight, no one at work commented on my face, other than the colleagues with whom I shared the story. They were amazed at how natural, fresh, and rested I looked. They said that I didn’t look tight, pulled, or unnatural.

The results of my surgery exceeded my expectations. I am extremely happy and confident with the way I look. For the first time in years, I can look in a mirror at the makeup counter and not cringe with the sight!

How much younger do I look? I was going through my desk drawer a week ago and found my old passport from 13 years ago. I looked at the picture, and thought … that is what I look like right now. Not bad, huh?

Dr. Michael Sullivan is an artist who uses the faces of his patients as his canvas. He is truly the best doctor around! I have recommended him to so many of my friends and colleagues already. I could have gone anywhere else for this surgery, but am so thankful that I chose to stay right here in Columbus, Ohio.
