I knew for years I had a deviated septum and didn’t realize as you age it can make breathing worse. It was affecting my quality of life, causing mouth breathing and snoring, which impacted my sleep. It turned out not only was my septum deviated but we found that my turbinate's were large blocking airflow and I had nasal vestibular stenosis (basically the area just inside the nostrils becomes narrow or obstructed). When my OSU dermatologist determined that I had basal cell cancer at the end of my nose, I had no idea until surgery that it was as deep as it was! After three rounds of MOHS, I was sent immediately to Dr. Nogan, at the recommendation of the OSU dermatology department.
