Xeomin® (botulinum toxin type A) is used for the treatment of frown lines and expressive wrinkles of the face. This prescriptive formulation is injected into specific muscles to temporally improve the look of the glabellar lines (the 11 lines between the eyebrows).
This product is not the first defense for Dr. Stephen Nogan or our Nurse Injectors because at Columbus Facial Plastics, we believe that Botox Cosmetic is the superior product to temporarily improve facial lines. Because a very small population does not respond to Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin has a place in the market. Patients who don’t respond to BOTOX® and are considered resistant may see results with Xeomin® because it is the purified botulinum toxin.
Xeomin® is FDA approved and works like BOTOX®. The onset of action and longevity of the results are similar to BOTOX®. Dr. Stephen Nogan or one of our injection nurses will discuss all the available options to best address your concerns.
