About Dr. Nogan
Dr. Stephen Nogan is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon and the Medical Director of Columbus Facial Plastics. With a passion for combining artistry with medical expertise, he is dedicated to helping his patients look, feel, and function at their very best.
His path to facial plastic surgery began thousands of miles from Columbus, Ohio—on surgical mission trips to Mexico as a college and medical student. Working alongside skilled surgeons to reconstruct facial injuries and deformities, he discovered his calling.
Unlike some plastic surgeons who focus exclusively on cosmetic procedures, he maintains a balanced practice, split equally between cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for the face and neck.
Education and Training
Dr. Nogan grew up in western Pennsylvania, where he earned his B.S. in Biochemistry at Grove City College. He went on to receive his M.D. from Penn State College of Medicine before completing specialized training at The Ohio State University
His dedicated training in head and neck surgery—which includes the surgical management of all conditions of the face and neck—provides a comprehensive, specialized foundation that sets him apart from surgeons who treat the entire body.

Areas of Expertise
Dr. Nogan’s reconstructive practice focuses primarily on skin cancer reconstruction, nasal airway surgery and facial injuries—from dog bites to broken noses to complex revision surgeries. He also revises scars and corrects issues from previous procedures, bringing his specialized training to cases that require a delicate touch.
On the cosmetic side, he’s known for taking a measured, science-based approach. He doesn’t chase every new trend or technology that hits the market. Instead, he focuses on proven surgical and non-surgical treatments with predictable, safe and long-term results—like the various laser technologies, for example, where experience makes all the difference.
A Patient-First Philosophy
“We do our very best to treat each and every patient like family,” Dr. Nogan explains. This straightforward approach means no sales pressure at Columbus Facial Plastics—just honest recommendations, expert education and realistic expectations.
He takes a long-term view with every recommendation—ensuring what patients choose today will still be the right decision in 15 or 20 years, not just immediately after treatment.
The result? A practice built on referrals from satisfied patients who appreciate the transparent approach and careful thought behind every recommendation.
Giving Back
Dr. Nogan remains connected to the mission work that first inspired him. He serves on the leadership board and as a volunteer surgeon on annual surgical trips to Honduras, bringing life-changing care to communities with limited access to otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery.
