Is Pale The New Tan?

We sure hope so. Everyday here at the Sullivan Centre we meet patients who want to reverse the effects of aging and improve the appearance of their skin. As we all know a lot of that damage is caused by the sun.

One way to improve the look of your future skin is to wear sunblock each and everyday. Remember, even though it is winter we are still being bombarded by UVA rays. Walking outside, driving in the car, the best way to protect your skin, is to use sun block every day, even on those gloomy cold weather days. In the summer we feel the warmth and experience the burn of the UVB rays. In the winter we are still exposed to high levels of UVA rays. UVA rays are the furthest reaching and most damaging. The minimum SPF you should be using every single day is 30. Choose your SPF depending upon how you like it to feel. Most patients at this time of year prefer a creamy moisturizing block. Patients with oily skin or acne have more options than ever to protect their skin without irritation. For example, the Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30 dusts on like a powder to protect without weight or congestion. Want to know more?
