Prior to your treatment, notify the nurses if you are currently on any prescription blood thinners, and if you have had an abdominal hernia. At the time of your treatment, the CoolSculpting nurse will take your weight and some “before” pictures. After, you will be marked to indicate the treatment areas where the applicators will be placed. The nurse will also apply a thin gel pad to your treatment area to protect it during the procedure and provide you with a pager that you will use to contact the nurse during your treatment should any questions or concerns arise.
After you are hooked up to the CoolSculpting machine, it is time to relax and let the machine do all the work. Since the treatment is non-invasive, painless, and relaxing, you may choose to read some magazines, nap, or even bring your laptop/Ipad to work. The Sullivan Centre offers complimentary Wi-Fi and Netflix to all of our patients. Immediately following your CoolSculpting treatment your skin may be tender, tingling, and swollen. We highly recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing or athletic wear to minimize discomfort after treatment. Downtime is minimal and most patients are able to return to their daily routine immediately after treatment. A gradual reduction in the fat layer thickness will take place as your body will continue to naturally process the injured fat cells. One to three months after your treatment you will start to see your full results. CoolSculpting results are long term because the treated fat cells are gone for good and untreated areas will have no change in fat cell distribution.
